World Debut For Superpuck In Edinburgh
EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND: Testing continues for the electronic Superpuck with on-ice punishing tests starting on w/c 30th November at Murrayfield in Edinburgh.
Scott Neil, club owner of the UK Elite League Edinburgh Capitals, was delighted to help out and the team squad will use the new pucks in training sessions.
Five specially-made Vegum Slovakia test pucks with the TAG Heuer Sports Timing's Formula 1-type transponders inside will be physically tested to destruction during the tests.
TAG Heuer are confident from their experiences in F1 and LeMans 24 hrs motorsport and many other sports that their transponder chips inside will continue to emit a signal and withstand any amount of hard hits the players can give them.
Meanwhile, work has started on the next phase of the Superpuck which will gather LIVE data from unique transponders fitted to each player's waistband and provide stats for coaching, TV broadcasters and fans via the internet.
